ARE you interested in returning to education and realising your dreams? Well, Mary Immaculate College (MIC), Limerick may have a course to suit you as it is inviting applications from interested candidates to its four full-time undergraduate programmes: Liberal Arts Programme, B. Ed. Degree (Primary Teaching), BA in Early Childhood Care and Education and B. Ed in Education & Psychology.
Current master’s student Eleanor McSherry is the perfect example of someone returning to education and fulfilling a long-held dream.
In 2003, when her children started school, Eleanor found herself at a loose end and harboured thoughts about going to college. Her friend told her about the Foundation Certificate in MIC and she decided to give it a go.
Eleanor went on to not only receive an honours degree in Media & Communication Studies and Philosophy but is now undertaking a research masters in Philosophy in MIC. Since graduating she has worked as a freelance journalist and was recently shortlisted for the RTE / Galway Film Centre’s Short Script Award 2009.
If you would like information on any of the above courses in addition to the college’s range of Certificate and Diploma courses then feel free to attend the College’s Information Evening on Tuesday March 9 at 6pm.
