GARDAI are continuing to question a man following the discovery of a firearm during a planned search of a city hotel room.
The raid was carried out at the Travellodge hotel in Coonagh Cross at around 10.30pm on Wednesday night.
A firearm was recovered during the search. The raid was conducted by Roxboro gardaí and assisted by the Regional Support Unit. The search was part of a wider Garda operation into criminal activity in the city.
The man who is in his 30s is being detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
