Man charged following plane alert

A MAN has been before a court in Ennis following the grounding of an aircraft at Shannon yesterday.

The 44-year-old is charged in connection with a security alert on board a ArkeFly chartered Boeing 767 jet.

Jorge Flores, with an address in the Netherlands, was charged with knowingly causing a false alarm by stating that he had a bomb onboard.

The man was remanded in custody to appear at Ennis District Court tomorrow when further charges may be brought against him.

It is understood gardai have been in contact with the Dutch authorities.
