HEAVY rain and stormy conditions replaced the snow and ice early this week, with motorists being advised to watch out for fallen trees and debris on roads throughout the week.
Met Éireann has issued warnings to some local authorities and said a very significant weather system was approaching which could bring significant rain especially to Kerry, Cork and Eastern parts of Munster. Up-to 30mm of rain can be expected in some areas by the current weather system.
A survey carried out by IBEC has reported that some companies have a 12.9% rate of absenteeism since 1 January due to bad weather.
