A MAN has been seriously injured in a fire which broke out in a city centre flat this evening.
The fire started at around 9pm in a fourth floor flat in a building on Upper Cecil Street.
The man has been taken to the Mid West Regional hospital in Dooradoyle where he is being treated for his injuries.
A woman who was also in the building at the time required treatment for smoke inhalation.
Two fire tenders from the Limerick City Fire Service attended the scene.
