GARDAI are questioning two men in connection with a serious attack on a man in Co Clare.
The assault took place in the Heights area of O’Connell Street in Ennis just before midnight last night.
A 26-year-old man was transferred to the Mid West Regional hospital in Dooradoyle after he received a head injury during the attack. A hospital source has said the man is still in a critical condition.

Two men in their twenties are being questioned by Gardai in connection with the assault and are being detained at Ennis Garda station.
