THE deferred Thomond swim is planned to take place this Friday evening at 6.30pm.
The swim had been cancelled a couple of weeks ago due to bad weather and strong currents.
Members of the public are also expected to take part in the swim, which it is envisaged will comprise of 50 swimmers from all over the city and region.
Starting at the slipway near St Michael’s Boat Club, the 1.7km swim will head up to the Curragower Falls on to Thomond Bridge and return to conclude at Sarsfield Bridge.
Limerick Marine Sea and Rescue who will benefit from the monies raised will be on hand to keep an eye on the participants during the swim.
