Explosive device thrown at Limerick home

A home-made explosive device was thrown through the open front door of a house in Limerick on September 14, around 8.30pm. Two people were residing in the house located on Hyde Road and both escaped serious injury. The scene was attended by Limerick’s fire service.

Thefts of mopeds from city suburbs

THE theft two of mopeds from the city suburbs is being investigated by Gardaí at Mayorstone.

The first was stolen from the side of a house in Caherdavin between 10.30 pm on September 12 and 9 am.

The moped, described as a silver Peugeot, was behind a locked gate which was kicked in.

The second scooter was a blue Yamaha Aerox and was stolen from outside a house in Clonisle on the same night, between 10 pm and 10 am.

The mopeds are said to have been in mint condition when they were stolen.

Gold chain and phone taken in mugging

GARDAÍ at Mayorstone are investigating the mugging of a young man as he walked along Monabraher Road, Ballynanty Beg, on September 12.

The youth was approached by two males at about 11.15pm, who grabbed a gold chain from him and took his silver Apple iPhone before running off in the direction of Shanabooley Road.

The victim received no injuries but was shocked by the incident.

One of the culprits was described as being in his late teens and wearing jeans and a jacket. The second was wearing a black shell suit top with a hood.
