IT’S Harvest Fair time again, the 24th in fact, in aid of Milford Hospice, on August 30.
To safeguard against inclement weather, the Fair will take place near the Unigolf facility, located within a 10 minute walk from Milford Hospice.
Eamonn Ryan explained: “August 30 was chosen strategically to ensure that it will not clash with any major sporting events.
The venue worked well last year with extra space for the tentage village, ample parking for patrons and its suitability for all weather conditions”.
Expressions of gratitude were conveyed to PJ Noonan for facilitating the hosting of the Fair at this location.
Again, there will be something for everyone to enjoy with the largest display of vintage cars and farm machinery in Munster.
There will also be a wide variety of tasty treats from the cake stall, not to mention the vast array of tents including bric-a-brac, fancy goods, clothes stall a child friendly kiddies corner etc.
The perennial favourites such as the wheel of fortune, plant stalls and the bottle stall will be among the numerous attractions.
“Milford Hospice, receives funding for its services from the HSE, there remains a significant shortfall in its ongoing revenue funding base.
“This deficit has to be met through organised fund-raising events, the largest being the Annual Harvest Fair, and in 2009, given the current difficult economic climate, the support of the people of the Mid West is going to be needed all the more” explained chief executive, Pat Quinlan.
