DUE to public demand, the phenomenon that is “Mentalist of the Year” 2009, Keith Barry returns to UCH on Thursday September 17. His latest show, Direct From Vegas is a dazzling blend of magic, illusions and hypnosis. Earlier this year Keith was awarded a Merlin Award for “Mentalist of the Year 2009” from the International Magicians Society which has 37,000 members worldwide.
He was presented with the award by President of IMS Mr. Tony Hassini. The Merlin Award is to magic what the Oscars are to movies. Some past winners include David Copperfield, Siegfried & Roy and Paul Daniels. Keith finished up an impressive five week residency at The Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino last year.
He is known for an array of mystifying talents ranging from hypnotic effects such as inducing temporary amnesia and paralysis, to bizarre magic such as stopping his pulse and dying on stage. In 2006 CBS’s “Keith Barry Extraordinary,” showcased Barry’s tremendous skill as he performed his enigmatic brand of illusion on celebrities including Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Simpson, Elijah Wood, Wilmer Valderrama and Vivica Fox. He became the first European magician to star in his own TV special to be broadcast by CBS.
Keith Barry sold out at UCH last April and tickets are bound to disappear as quickly this time around.
