O&F’s ‘Hot Italian’

-

IT’S Summer time and the weather is (sometimes) hot. Well, whatever about the weather, the good people at Olio and Farina have some hot offers to accompany their latest range of products to hit the store.

Running the theme of “Hot Italian Summer” O&F have a some products to spice things up this summer.

First off is the little bag of tricks in the Spaghettata Hot Spices.

The claim is that you will not find a more versatile bag of spices and originating from Toscana I’d have to agree.

You can take a sprinkle from this bag of gems and add to sauces, crostini and pastas to give a gentle kick of seasoning. Retailing at 3.99, this will last you through a number of dishes and give you some wonderful flavours.

Always a favourite for dips and nibbles but the twisty breads known as Taralli have received that little injection of hot and these traditional snack now have a touch of chilli on board. Great for the party food lovers.

Noted for their fresh pasta range, O&F have a added Orecchiette to their shelves and this little pasta from the Puglia region is designed especially to hold some of their wonderful sauces when topped with Parmesan.

Priced at 14.99 per kilo, the hot Salsiccia has been beefed up and the noted flavours of coriander, fennel, garlic and nutmeg are joined by a little chilli for this Calabrian treat.

When drizzled with a little olive oil and warmed under the grill, the Friselle bread is perfect for bruschettas. Some sprinkle with water or their favourite sauces, but either way these very popular breads are great for fans of all things Italian.

Carrying the Arrabbiata sauce throughout the range of products is something that O&F have done for some time and this sauce fits nicely into the accompanying range.

In Italian it means slightly hot under the collar and this sauce is exactly that, a great tomato based sauce with a hint of heat.

The hot penne dried pasta with chilli pepper completes the range from O&F and if you liked the chilli spaghetti you will love these.

Great with a “big” sauce or equally as fab with a some oil and a grating of pecorino.
