A UK Company, Agilisys Contact Services has announced that it is shutting down its operation in Shannon and transferring its business to the UK.
The company employs 71 and provides contact centre services to UK public and private sector organisations. It has been operating out of Smithstown in Shannon for the last four years.
The company told the staff of its intention and hoped that some of them will relocate to its UK centres at Barrow-in-Furness and Rochdale.
The company said the decision was driven by the current economic conditions, with the strength of the euro against the pound; overheads in Shannon make it not viable.
A spokesperson for the company said it was in discussions with the employees in relation to redundancies.
