A GARDA received an injury to his neck when he was attacked by a group of youths in the Ballincurra Weston area.
Up to 20 gardaí were called to back up gardai who came under attack as they investigated a criminal damage incident in the area on Sunday evening.
The injured garda was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital, where he was treated for his injury before being discharged.
Stones and missiles were hurled at gardai during the attack and three people were arrested. An 18-year-old man and a youth were later brought before Limerick District Court and charged with public order offences. They were remanded on bail to appear before the court at a later date.
