VIEWS on changing shopping patterns in the region are being entertained by The Mid-West Regional Authority, who are now preparing to review and update the Mid-West Retail Strategy. The existing Strategy was adopted in 2003, but since then the significant increase in retail development in the region has changed the pattern of shopper behaviour.
According to the Regional Authority, it is essential that the existing strategy should now be reviewed to identify the existing and future potential for the sustainable development of retail offer in the region up to 2016.
The public now has the opportunity to submit views on the proposed Retail Strategy which will cover the four administrative areas of: Limerick City Council; Limerick County Council, Clare County Council and North Tipperary County Council.
