A LIMERICK student, attending UCC, died as a result of an accident in Cork on Monday evening.
The student has been named locally as Kevin Malone from Castletroy.
Bystanders were shocked when they watched as the undergraduate tried to stop a car that had started to roll down a hill before jamming him against a wall.
The incident happened around 5pm close to University College Cork and was described by Gardai as a tragic accident.
He is survived by his parents Frank and Niamh, and sister Ciara.
