Earls added to extended Irish squad

-

Munster and Ireland back, Keith Earls, was added to an extended squad as the the Ireland rugby team came back into camp on Monday ahead of Sunday’s second game of the RBS 6 Nations Championship against Italy in Rome.

Earls, together with another additional five players were added to last weekend’s 22 players who were involved in the match day squad that beat France.

The Munster man has recovered enough from a knock he sustained against Montauban to be included in the extended squad ahead of Kidney naming his side to play Italy on Sunday

The following players have all joined up with the Ireland squad for training this week in Dublin.
Girvan Dempsey (Terenure College – Leinster)
Keith Earls (Young Munster – Munster)
Shane Horgan (Boyne – Leinster)
Mick O’Driscoll (Cork Constitution – Munster)
Alan Quinlan (Shannon – Munster)
Bernard Jackman (Clontarf – Leinster)
The squad have no significant injuries to report following the game.  Rob Kearney came through the game with no reaction to his recent ankle injury.  Paddy Wallace received stitches to an eye wound and Jerry Flannery suffered a stinger injury to this shoulder.  Both Wallace and Kearney are being monitored and neither has been ruled out of contention at this point for a place in the team against Italy.
