Olivia’s what’s hot and what’s not February 7

What’s hot – Retro style headpieces
‘Fascinators’ are the term given to these headpieces that are somewhere between a hair accessory and a small, fancy hat, attaching with a comb, clip or headband with a style that is part 1920s flapper and part uptown glamour. They look great as a blend of burlesque and pinup styles with a dash of goth!

The snow
I know everyone has been giving out about flights delayed, roads blocked or closed, weather warnings etc etc over the last week but it was so nice to see snowflakes falling that I didn’t care. I wanted to grab my wooly hat, scarf, duffel coat, mittens and wellies and join the kids outside running around trying to catch a snowflake on their tongues!

What’s not – Maxim Magizine

Apparently Maxim men’s magazine ran a big feature on Limerick recently and slated us! How dare they? I suppose they consider painting our beloved city like some kind of western gangland hole something that would really excite their readers. I’m not sure what that says about their readers but then again, I don’t think they buy the magazine for the stories anyway, do you?
