TWO Limerick men found in possession of a loaded handgun that may have been used in local feud wars are to be sentenced next month.
24-year-old Liam Keane, of Singland Gardens, Ballysimon, and 21-year-old Greg Crawford of St Munchin’s Street, St Mary’s Park, pleaded guilty at the Circuit Court this Wednesday to possession of a Glock semi-automatic weapon and 13 rounds of ammunition in the city on May 4th.
They were arrested following a high-speed pursuit involving local gardai and members of the Emergency Response Unit.
During the hearing the prosecution claimed the two were involved in a serious and significant feud, which had already claimed a number of lives.
Judge Carrol Moran adjourned sentencing until January 20 and remanded both men in custody until that date.
