O’Meara stars in Oz Hurling Final

Willie O'Meara was presented with his award by Colin Daly, Chairperson of New South Wales GAA

WILLIE O’MEARA excelled in the New South Wales (Australia) Senior Hurling Final in Ingleburn, Sydney.

Operating at centre-back, O’Meara – who was an important squad member in Limerick’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final breakthrough win of 2018 – was easily the most outstanding player on show.

The 26-year-old from Askeaton featured with Michael Cusacks, who easily had the measure of Sydney Shamrocks, 2-18 to 0-16.

O’Meara, who is also the holder of a National League (2019) with the Shannonsiders, only emigrated to Oz in recent months.

He also represented Limerick at under-21.
