LIMERICK Food Group has launched the Limerick Food and Drink Producer Directory, with the goal of promoting local food and drinks producers and highlighting Limerick as a top food destination.

Led by Tom Flavin of Limerick Food Group and councillor Olivia O’Sullivan, the directory includes 50 food and drink businesses, with a foldout map showing each producer’s location.

Mr Flavin is a chef and food consultant, and owner at Cook and Cleaver readymade meals, while Olivia O’Sullivan is a councillor for Limerick City North, as well as a marketing and communications consultant.

The project is supported by the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and West Limerick Resources LEADER funding.

Mr Flavin said that the directory will help to showcase Limerick’s food and drink producers in one coherent place.

“We have fantastic food producers in Limerick and this is an opportunity to showcase them all together, it also gives owners and operators of food businesses, chefs, and buyers an easy-to-use directory of local food producers.

“We believe this initiative will not only celebrate the vibrant culinary landscape of Limerick, but also foster a stronger sense of community and support among local businesses.”

Cllr Olivia O’Sullivan hopes the initiative will help sustain food producers throughout the county.

“We know there are new food businesses starting all the time and we want to help grow the local market for them so we can sustain as many of these micro, small, and medium sized businesses as possible, and help them to grow,” Cllr O’Sullivan concluded.
