Teen rescued from Shannon in stolen boat

Fireworks dA TEENAGE girl who stole a boat from the Limerick City Marina had to be rescued by Limerick City Fire and Rescue Service this Saturday evening.

Shortly after 6:30pm, Limerick Fire and Rescue were tasked to a small Rib adrift without power at Shannon Bridge.

The Fire Service deployed three appliances within three minutes of receiving the call – including its Rescue Craft – “Fireswift”.

Upon arrival at Shannon Bridge, a young girl in her early teens was found aboard the craft without power.

It’s believed The rib had been taken from behind sarsfield house without permission.

The girl was uninjured and taken into custody of awaiting Gardai.
